April 4, 2014 – Good News Reflections – Camp Fairview

Dear Praying Friends,

We are so thankful for you, our faithful prayer warriors and financial supporters. It has been amazing to watch God take care of us, as He promised in Philippians 4:19 “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

Update on Susan

It has been a very unusual winter and spring for us. We have been to the Mayo Clinic, in Jacksonville, FL 3 times in the past twelve months (twice this winter). Because of this, our ability to be in meetings has been limited. Susan has been slowly, but surely, regaining her strength since the surgery, and we just received word that her tumor marker for thyroid cancer is less than 0 – Praise God! Please continue to pray for her strength. Also pray for her as she deals with the chronic pain associated with Fibromyalgia and Neuropathy.

Recent Meetings

On March 16th, we were at Emmanuel Baptist Church, in Kingsport, TN with Pastor David Powers. Instead of having a week-long Mission’s Conference, he is having missionaries come in and share on Sunday mornings. We had a wonderful time sharing the importance of reaching young people and their families for Christ. It was very unique how we actually met David and Rita Powers. We were both at a red light in Kingsport, TN, when Pastor asked his wife to get a prayer card from us. She ran to our truck, asked for a card, and got back in their vehicle as the light turned green. You never know how God will allow your paths to cross – Emmanuel has supported us for several years now.

On March 23rd, we were at Lupton Drive Baptist Church, in Hixson, TN with Pastor Randy Bell. Sunday morning we ministered in Children’s Church, and on Sunday night we had a part in the evening service. Because of Susan’s surgery, “Dusty” lost his voice for a few months, but he sure had a good time pickin’ on folks on Sunday night (I think he was making up for lost time). Lupton Drive has been supporting us for many years – their Children’s Church supports us as well.

We stayed in Hixson Sunday night, and on Monday, March 24th, Tim preached the funeral of a friend, John Fausch. John and Debbie have been supporting our ministry for several years, and we were glad to be a part of the celebration of John’s life. Please pray for Deb; John will definitely be missed…

Upcoming Meetings

This coming weekend (April 5-6) we will be at Calvary Baptist Church, in McMinnville, TN with Pastor Tom Fittis. We will be ministering at their Mission’s Banquet on Saturday night, as well as all 3 services on Sunday. Calvary is one of our newest supporters, and we are excited about ministering with these dear folks!

On April 12-13 we will be at Community Baptist Church, in Whitwell, TN with Pastor Adam Underwood. We will have a service on Saturday evening, as well as both services on Sunday. Community has supported our ministry for many years, and we are excited to see how God is going to work in hearts.

Camp Fairview 2014

(Camp Theme)

The Hatfield’s and the McCoy’s

Once again we will be ministering at Camp Fairview (our Church’s camp) June 30 – July 4, 2014. Last year was such a blessing – 7 precious young people gave their lives to Christ! It was exciting to see the change that God had made in their lives in such a short amount of time!

The main goal of Camp Fairview is to introduce young people to Jesus and to teach them more about Him. Another goal is to have a fun week of activities, food, and adventure. There is a beautiful, new wagon for Hay Rides! Not to mention, the new trails for Hiking. A lot has been going on here at Camp! We’d like to invite each of you to pray about sending your young people (ages 7-12) to Camp Fairview this summer. There are still openings available, so call to reserve your spot for June 30-July 4, 2014. Alex Newton is the Youth Pastor and Camp Director, and you can reach him at: (423) 368-6170. For every 10 paying Campers – 1 Counselor comes for free. For more information on cost, what to bring, dress code, and other information, go to: http://www.campfairview.org/ We look forward to seeing you soon!
