April 18, 2014 – Good News Reflections – Have a Blessed Resurrection weekend!

Dear Praying Friends,

We want to wish everyone a very Blessed Resurrection weekend! Easter morning is Victory day for those of us who have accepted Christ as our personal Savior! Because HE lives, WE can face tomorrow! Oh what a Savior!

We have had a wonderful time of ministry over the last couple of weeks, at two of our supporting Churches.

Calvary Baptist Church
On April 5-6, we were at Calvary Baptist Church, in McMinnville, TN, with Pastor Tom Fittis (Calvary is our newest supporting Church). It was precious to see 11 year old Gracie come during Children’s Church to ask Jesus to save her. The worker who had the privilege of leading her to Christ, told us that Gracie has been on the verge of making this decision for a few weeks. It was awesome to see her come and settle that decision! Then that night, a 46 year old man came forward during the invitation time. He had recently watched something on TV about Hell, and was very fearful of his eternal destination. Please pray for Jim, that he will settle this decision soon.

We also enjoyed spending time with Jerry and Kim Sexton and their family (Kim is Bob and Marie Ford’s daughter). We’ve known the Sextons for over 15 years, and really enjoyed getting caught-up (even though we hardly recognized their children). It’s amazing how much young people change over just a few years! Jerry works with Bearing Precious Seed; and they sing as a family. If your Church ever needs special music at a Conference, the Sextons would really bless your hearts with Christ honoring music. They live in the Cincinnati, OH area.

Community Baptist Church
On April 12-13, we had the privilege of ministering at Community Baptist Church, in Whitwell, TN (there were many visitors who came to the meetings). It was great getting to fellowship with everyone again. One of the ladies let us know that she and her family helped us to unload our equipment for a Crusade 20 years ago – time sure goes by quickly. We have known Pastor Adam Underwood and his family for many years and enjoyed getting to minister with them again. We also spent time with some dear friends of ours, Paul and Kay Romesburg. While we were staying at their home, Kay brought out her ventriloquist character, “Scotty,” and gave him to Rachel. We didn’t know what to say (I can only image giving “Dusty” away). They really do become a part of you – kinda like your own kids – it’s just that they aren’t as expensive. A similar thing happened just before Tim’s Mom passed away (a year ago in March). Mom brought out her accordion, that she affectionately named, “Herman” (who wears a hat, and has his face drawn onto the front, with puppet eyes) – and gave him to Rachel. Again, we didn’t quite know what to say. Mom has played “Herman” since 1947 (she played her Mom’s accordion before that). It was quite special for Rachel to be entrusted with “Herman.” Both Mom and Kay were investing in Rachel’s ministry – and both were very touching. Please pray for Tim’s Dad, Martin Vermaas. He really misses his sweetheart of 70 years!

Please continue to pray for us as we finish our preparation time for this year. Usually, we begin our week-long Crusades in March/April and go through the end of November; but the Lord knew that Susan needed this time to recover and regain her strength.

Reaching Families for Him,

Tim, Susan, and Rachel Vermaas
