May 13, 2014 – Good News Reflections

May 13, 2014

Dear Praying Friends,

We are gearing up for an exciting year, and are looking forward to seeing many of you in the months to come! We have a busy schedule lined-up for the summer, and most of next summer is full as well.

On Friday, we plan to leave for Charlottesville, VA, and will begin a Family Crusade on Sunday at Faith Baptist Church. Please pray for our safety in travel, and that many decisions will be made for Christ.

As many of you know, it has been a very unusual year for us. Usually we would have already been on the road for much of the spring, but the Lord knew Susan needed the extra time to recover her strength from the surgery (and other medical challenges). Continue to pray for Susan – she is doing much better, but her voice has not completely recovered.

We are grateful for the extra time at home, but it has been very challenging for us financially. But God has been so Faithful, and He continues to build and strengthen our faith as we trust Him to provide for our needs.

This past Wednesday morning, when we turned on our main air conditioner, instead of getting cool air, we got the “hum of death.” With summer being just around the corner, we knew we would have to get it fixed quickly. We also know that A.C. units are not cheap (we just replaced the smaller unit last summer). I called a friend who owns a computer and appliance repair shop, and he came by to look at it on his way to Church. To make a long story short, the bearings on the motor had gone bad – – but – – it was a different part that went bad on the A.C. we replaced last summer! Both units have the exact same motor – so – we took the motor off of the one, and put it on the other – got cleaned up and went to Church. God is SO GOOD! What a privilege it is to be one of God’s kids – to know that our Heavenly Father is watching out for us, and taking care of us.

Rachel is growing so quickly – she is a skinny hair from being 5’ 8” tall. She has just completed 6th grade, and is officially a 7th grader! Where has the time gone?! We are thankful to the Lord that He has given us such a sweet young lady. She is already thinking about what she will do when she graduates – which reminds us how short our time is with her at home. We are enjoying every minute God gives us together; because we realize that, like a bird, she will one day take flight on her journey of faith to wherever God leads her.

These 21 years of ministry with Good News for Little People have been an amazing journey of faith, and we are excited to see what the next 20 years will hold. We firmly believe that the Lord’s return is just around the corner, and we want to be busy about the Lord’s work until He comes.

Reaching Families for Him,

Tim, Susan, and Rachel Vermaas
