Dear Praying Friends,

A lot has happened since our last update two weeks ago.

Bible Baptist Church
We were at Bible Baptist Church, in Tuscaloosa, AL, June 15-19. It was a wonderful week with 8 precious young people choosing to place their trust in Jesus as their personal Savior. All 8 of them were between 9-13 years of age. Here is a message from Pastor Falls concerning two of the young people:
“Cole was the confident-looking kid that showed up on Tuesday evening. He had on a nice shirt and cool shades. His hair was combed like it meant something to him (a little too neatly for a twelve-year-old). I greeted him before the service when he entered the auditorium . I would describe his walk as more of a strut. He seemed pretty impressed with himself. After Brother Tim preached Christ as the substitutionary atonement for our sin, Cole responded to the invitation. His eyes were filled with tears. Our altar worker said that he wept buckets of tears and prayed earnestly for salvation.

Ainsley got in the car on Thursday evening excited to tell her parents that she had been saved. Her mom said, ‘I thought that you had already been saved.’ She said, ‘No ma’am, but I’m saved now.’ She was baptized in her parents church last Sunday, June 22.”
Fairview Baptist Church
This past week we were at our home church, Fairview Baptist Church, in Athens, TN. God worked in hearts all week long, and on Wednesday evening, 10 year old, Preston, came with his friend, Brody (the son of the girl’s Penny Captain). Brody has witnessed to Preston on several occasions. He came back on Thursday night, because he wanted to see his friend’s mom loose the Penny Offering (he even gave $20.00 for the boys). It was on that night that he chose to place his trust in Jesus as his Savior. How exciting to see this young man give his life to Christ! (Yes, the boys won the Penny Offering!)

Intercessory Prayer
On Tuesday afternoon, we received a call from the doctor that Susan’s mom has 3 large, cancerous tumors (one on her back and one in each lung). She also has a blood clot in her left leg. We knew that Susan needed to get there, so she could tell her mom about the cancer, and call the rest of the family. So, on Wednesday morning, Susan drove from Athens, TN to Clarksville, TN (while Rachel and I finished the rest of the Children’s Crusade). Mom had her biopsy yesterday, and we should have the results back by Monday or Tuesday. We’ll know more about the type of cancer, and how far along it has progressed. We do know that the cancer has metastasized. Hospice has already talked with Susan, and Mom is in the process of deciding about treatment. This is a very difficult time, and we would appreciate your earnest prayers.

“Intercessory prayer might be defined as loving our neighbor on our knees.” – Charles Brent

Camp Fairview
Starting on Monday (June 30th), we will be ministering at Camp Fairview, in Riceville, TN. We are excited to see what God is going to do in the lives of young people this week. Because of the situation with Susan’s mom, we may need to do part (or all) of the week without Susan. The Lord knows all about it, and we know He will give us His wisdom and grace during this difficult time.

Thank you for your faithful prayers for us!

Reaching Families for Him,

Tim, Susan, and Rachel Vermaas
