Dear Praying Friends,
As many of you already know, Susan’s mom passed away on July 1st. Susan received a call from the doctor on Tuesday, June 24th (exactly 1 week earlier) that her mom had cancer. She drove to Clarksville, TN that next morning to be with her mom and to let her and the family know about the diagnosis. It wasn’t until after mom’s death that we found out that mom had a slow-growing Lymphoma. By the time we noticed the large tumor on mom’s back, the cancer had already metastasized throughout her body.
All of Susan’s siblings were able to get to Clarksville to spend some time with their mom, and to say good-bye before she passed away. The funeral was held in Clarksville, TN, on Sunday, July 6th; and the committal service was this past Wednesday, in Winchester, VA. Susan was able to talk with mom about her Salvation the week before, and mom was confident that she had settled that decision in December of 2001. Her sister, Kellie, had the privilege of leading her to Christ. Please continue to pray for the family as they grieve the loss of their mother and grandmother. Also, pray for Susan as she works to settle her mom’s property.
Fairview Baptist Church and Camp Fairview
Because Susan had to leave to be with her family, Tim finished the Children’s Crusade at Fairview Baptist Church, as well as a week at Camp Fairview – without her. The meetings went well, but Susan was definitely missed (by Tim – AND the kids). We praise God for the 2 precious young people who chose to accept Christ during those weeks.
Lighthouse Baptist Church
On Sunday (July 13th) we will begin a Children’s Crusade at Lighthouse Baptist Church, in Winchester, VA. We are excited to see what God is going to do this week. Please pray for the meetings, that there will be many decisions for Him.
Please notice the location of the committal service of Susan’s Mom – and the town this next meeting is in – they are one in the same – Winchester, VA. Lighthouse Baptist Church graciously allowed us to hook-up our trailer a few days early for the burial. This is the ONLY meeting we have scheduled in the area this year. God’s timing is indeed perfect!
