August 1, 2014 – Good News Reflections – 27th Wedding Anniversary

August 1, 2014

Dear Praying Friends,

Yesterday, August 1st, we celebrated 27 years of marriage! It doesn’t seem possible that time has flown by so quickly. We are thrilled that God has allowed us to serve Him in this ministry, and we pray that God gives us many more years together to proclaim the Good News of the Gospel to young people and their families.

God Gave Us This Time
This past week was spent in Clarksville, TN, and Bible Baptist Church was so gracious in allowing us to hook-up our 5th Wheel on their Church property. We had a cancellation a few months ago for this week, which never rescheduled – and now we know why. We are so grateful that God gave us this time to take care of a few things concerning the passing of Susan’s Mom. Lord willing, by the end of December, everything will be completed in the settling and distribution of Mom’s things.

Bible Fellowship Church
We are currently in Olney, IL for our next week of meetings, at Bible Fellowship Church (which starts on Sunday morning). Please pray that God will draw people to Himself for Salvation. It is our desire that we would be an encouragement to this dear Pastor and his Church family.

Noisy Tires?
As many of you know, one of the bearings on our trailer went bad on our way to Clarington, OH two weeks ago. We were able to get the replacement parts just in time for Tim and one of the men at the church to replace the bearings last Friday morning so we could drive to Clarksville, TN that afternoon.

On the way, we noticed that the “road noise” we’ve been hearing on the front of the truck, was getting considerably worse. What we thought was a noisy tire – ended up being the bearings in both hub assemblies going bad. We also put two new tires on the front, and while putting the best of the rest of the tires on the back, we noticed that the rear brake rotors and pads were in need of replacement as well (the front rotors and pads were replaced LAST month).

When all was said and done, we had $2,500.00 worth of repairs done on the truck and trailer in the last month and a half. There’s never a “good time” for a breakdown, but we are grateful that each of these events happened at a place where we could have the work done safely – and not along-side the road! Please pray with us that God would provide the funds needed to cover these expenses. We serve a great God who is SO Faithful!

Thanks for your sweet friendship and for your faithful prayers and support for us! We are indeed blessed!
