September 12, 2014 – Good News Reflections

Dear Praying Friends,

God is so Good! And we are so thankful for the privilege of serving Him! What a joy it is to share with you what the Lord has been doing recently in our ministry!

A Busy Summer
We finally arrived home the end of August, after a very busy summer of ministry. This summer we were in 10 different churches (as well as a week at Camp Fairview), and were able to see 45 people give their lives to Christ. All of Heaven rejoices when even one person calls on Jesus to save them.

Fairview Baptist Church
On Wednesday night (August 27th), Tim had the privilege of preaching at Fairview Baptist Church (our home church); and on the next Sunday we were blessed to hear evangelist Tom Farrell preach in the morning and evening services here at Fairview. Our hearts were so challenged by his preaching.

Lupton Drive Baptist Church
On September 3rd, we ministered at Lupton Drive Baptist Church, in Chattanooga, TN; during their AWANA kick-off (One Accord Baptist Church brought a group over as well). The Fellowship Hall was filled with over 150 young people; and during the invitation, 9 year old Jocelyn came forward to ask Jesus to save her (Jocelyn is from a Catholic background and this was her third time to visit). Pray for One Accord as they continue to minister to Jocelyn and her family.

Westside Missionary Baptist Church
This past Sunday, we had the privilege of ministering at Westside Missionary Baptist Church in Ringgold, GA. At the end of the morning service, a 69 year old man and an 11 year old boy came forward and accepted Jesus as their Savior. There was a sweet spirit, and it was obvious that the Lord was moving.

The Next Few Weeks
Over the next couple of weeks Tim will be working on some projects that have been waiting for him to come home. It’s amazing how things tend to pile-up when you’re gone for almost 4 months.

Rachel is in 7th Grade now, and is starting her 7th week of school. She is 12 years old and almost the same height as her Mom (she hasn’t caught-up with Dad though).

Susan is busily working on distributing her parents’ things among her siblings (with the death of her Mom this past July). This has been a very tedious job (she is actually doing it online). The first of October, we plan to drive to Clarksville, TN to sort through everything and finish the distribution. Pray for God’s wisdom as she has many decisions to make over the next couple of months.

We appreciate your continued prayers for us!

Reaching Families for Him,

Tim, Susan, and Rachel Vermaas
