Good News for Little People began in 1980 under the direction of Paul and Linda Ditman. Untold numbers of young people have had the privilege of hearing the Gospel and many have received Christ as a result of their effective ministry over the years.
In January of 1993, Tim and Susan Vermaas began ministering with Good News for Little People, and that April Tim felt God’s call on his life to be an evangelist to young people and their families, as well as an “Elisha” to his friend, Paul. In July of that year Tim was also ordained as a minister of the Gospel.
Paul Ditman faithfully served as President of Good News for Little People until his home-going in June of 1995(due to complications he developed following a heart transplant in the late 1980’s). One week before his home-going, Paul passed the “Mantle” of this Ministry to his “Elisha in the Faith,” Tim Vermaas. Tim promised Paul that he would do everything in his power to make sure that this Ministry continued impacting young people and their families for Christ.
Tim and Susan Vermaas have served full-time in this Ministry since May of 1996, and as the current President, Tim is committed to seeing Good News for Little People, Inc.remain a fundamentally sound, Biblically based, non-profit organization focused on carrying out the Great Commission, with a special emphasis on young people and their families.
Good News for Little People, Inc.ministers out of the Fairview Baptist Church, in Athens, TN and is located on the campus of Camp Fairview (a Ministry of the Fairview Baptist Church).
Tim and Susan are both graduates of Tennessee Temple University, in Chattanooga, TN – Tim with a B.R.E. in Missions and Bible (1987), and Susan with a B.S. in Education (1996).
