Dear Praying Friends,
We had a wonderful time of ministry on Sunday at Community Baptist Church in East Ridge, TN. Pastor Alan Robinson and his wife Janet have been good friends for many years, (Alan is one of the board members for our ministry). It was great to meet his Church family and to minister with these dear folks!
New Family Members
On October 31, we were visiting with the teenagers of our church, and had the privilege of meeting Elizabeth and Thomas White (they are mother and son). When Susan asked Thomas (age 19) if he knew where he would go when he died, he said “YES” – and pointed DOWN. Susan then asked if we could show him what the Bible says about going to Heaven, and he again said yes. Susan had the privilege of praying with Thomas, and leading him to the Lord.
Thomas and Elizabeth came to church with us the next day; and on Sunday night (as the invitation began) Elizabeth made a bee-line for the altar. She told Susan that she was ready to be saved, and Susan had the privilege of leading her to the Lord as well (Elizabeth got baptized the next Sunday). They both ride to church with us, and Elizabeth hasn’t missed a service since she got saved, (even when we’ve been out of town). We are also going through a discipleship program with her on Wednesday nights.
A few weeks ago (while dropping off Thomas and Elizabeth after church) we had the privilege of meeting Chris (one of their neighbors). Please pray for him – he is really struggling spiritually. We have been able to visit with him several times, and are praying that God will use us to be an encouragement to him.
Health Update
As many of you know, on November 9th Susan had her gallbladder removed. Praise the Lord she is healing nicely – the intense pain from that area of her abdomen is almost completely gone! While having her gallbladder removed, the doctor noticed endometriosis on her uterus and ovaries (which she has had since the 1980’s) – this would account for much of the pain in her lower abdomen. After much prayer, extensive tests, scans, and a second opinion; she has decided to have surgery. The only date open with this doctor is tomorrow morning at 7:30. Please be praying, as this will be an extensive surgery. The Lord knows and we trust Him to guide the doctor’s hands.
We cherish your faithful prayers for us!
