Dear Praying Friends,
We want you to know how much we cherish your prayers! You have been such an encouragement to us!
Eleventh Avenue Baptist Church
We were at Eleventh Avenue Baptist Church, in Dalton, GA, June 16th through the 20th. It was an awesome week of meetings, with 4 trusting Christ as their personal Savior and 93 visitors for the week.
On Tuesday night, 7 year old, Abby went home after the meeting and told her Grandma that she wanted to come and accept Christ, but was too afraid. After her Grandma talked with her, Abby prayed to receive Christ as her personal Savior. Praise God for a Grandma who desires to be a godly influence!
After the Wednesday evening program, 10 year old, Karah, came to us and asked how she could know for sure she was saved. After talking with her, Susan asked if she knew what Jesus had done for her. With a very serious nod, she said, “No” (she had never heard the Gospel). She shared with us that her Dad was in jail, her Mom was making poor decisions, and her step Dad (her “real” Dad) had just passed away. Our hearts just broke as she shared her story. It was precious to share the Gospel with her and to see her trust Christ as her personal Savior.
When we walked back into the auditorium, she gave her friend, Destiny, a hug and told her that she had just accepted Jesus as her Savior. Destiny commented that she wanted to talk with someone about that decision as well, but the person she wanted to talk with had already gone home. She let us know that she had prayed about being saved two years ago, but did not understand what she was doing. After going over the plan of Salvation with her, she decided that she needed to pray and accept Christ as well. We praise God for drawing people to Himself for Salvation!
Fairview Baptist Church
This past week we were at Fairview Baptist Church, in Athens, TN (our home Church). It was exciting to see the number of young people who were brought in on the busses and in personal vehicles (there were a total of 64 visitors for the week). Many came during the invitation each evening, either to pray for someone or to make a decision for themselves. We praise God for the 15 young people who came to accept Christ as their personal Savior, and for the 8 who came to ask about being baptized. These young people are already being followed-up through our visitation program and we hope to see all of them baptized soon. What a JOY it is for us to be a part of what God is doing here at Fairview Baptist Church.
Update on Truck Repair
A couple of weeks ago, we shared about a possible transmission problem with the truck. The good news is that the problem was not in the transmission – although it did need to be serviced (we have it serviced every year, since we are on the road so much).
All three U-Joints, plus the Center Support Bearing needed to be replaced. They sent the drive shaft out (with the new U-Joints and Bearings in place), to make sure everything was balanced, before putting it back together.
We are so thankful to our Heavenly Father for holding things together for us until we could get it in to be repaired. We praise God that the problem was not the transmission, or the cost would have been in the thousands. And – speaking about the cost – God used the generosity of a lady we have never met, to pay the entire cost of this repair. We praise God for providing for this need.
Camp Fairview
We are here at Camp Fairview this next week and are excited to see how God is going to work in hearts. There’s a good group of young people registered to come to Camp this week. Please pray for each of these campers, that they will respond to what God is doing in their hearts.
May God BLESS you for investing in our ministry through your faithful prayers and support for us!
