August 31, 2013 – Good News Reflections – Tim’s Surgery

Dear Praying Friends,

We had a good week of ministry at Central Baptist Church, in Victoria, VA (August 18-21). Two sister Churches came and joined us for several of the nights (one of the Churches brought their youth group to the Creation vs. Evolution presentation on Tuesday night). There was a total of 77 visitors who came to the meetings – we praise God for working in hearts.

Last Sunday (August 25th), we ministered at Bethel Baptist Church, in Quinque, VA (Bethel has been one of our supporting Churches for many years now). It was great to spend time with Pastor and Mrs. Lamb (and many of our friends at Bethel). We also had the privilege of meeting their new Pastor, Tim Whiteheart. On Saturday, they had a Church-wide picnic at Rapidan Baptist Camp, and we had a great time of fellowship. Rachel joined many of the young people (and a few not so young), who climbed a telephone pole to ride the Zip Line – TWICE! She had a lot of fun, but “Mom” was doing some extra praying. They also rode, “The Death Rail” – – a cart that rides down the hill on a set of rails (you should have seen Tim on the cart with his knees up around his chin). It was quite funny!

We arrived home at Camp Fairview on Tuesday night (Tim’s Hernia surgery was scheduled for Wednesday morning). He did well during the surgery and was hurting quite a bit for the first few days, but is steadily getting better. We are home for a few weeks to give him time to heal, before we get back on the road for our fall meetings.

Thanks for continuing to pray for us!

Reaching Families for Him,

Tim, Susan, and Rachel Vermaas
