Dear Praying Friends,
What an honor it is to be one of God’s kids, and to be able to serve our Savior – He is so good to us. How many of God’s blessings go unnoticed (and unappreciated) each and every day!
It has been six weeks since Tim’s Hernia surgery (and since our last update), and Tim is doing well. The incision has healed up nicely, and he is now able to lift again. Thank you for praying for him during this time.
We have really enjoyed being home (especially after being on the road for most of the last 6 months). It has been good being able to fellowship with our Church family, and to be under our pastor’s preaching (it has been very refreshing)! Please pray for our pastor, Dr. Jack Scallions, as he battles cancer. His faithfulness through this difficult trial has been a great example and encouragement to ALL of us. Pray also for his dear wife, Mrs. Paulette. They have faithfully served here at Fairview Baptist Church for over 40 years now, and are still going strong.
This time at home has been very productive for us. We were able to get caught-up on a lot of office work that we cannot easily do while we are on the road. We also had the privilege of ministering in our Children’s Church, as well as doing two Chapels at Fairview Christian Academy. This past Sunday we were with one of our supporting Churches, White Oak Baptist Church. It was great to fellowship with several of our friends there in Dayton, TN.
This morning we start a Family Crusade at Christian Bible Fellowship in Evensville, TN. These dear friends have been supporting us for many years, and we are excited to see what God is going to do this week. Pray that many decisions will be made for Christ, both for Salvation and for service.
Reaching Families for Him,
Tim, Susan, and Rachel Vermaas
PS. Please continue to pray for our time at the Mayo Clinic (our first appointment is on November 4th). They plan to take another biopsy of Susan’s thyroid, as well as many other tests while we are there (several of Susan’s symptoms do not fit her diagnosis). Please pray for wisdom for the doctors, as well as God’s provision for our financial needs.
