October 27, 2013 – Good News Reflections

Dear Praying Friends,

We are excited to share with you about the last two weeks of meetings.  It’s been awesome to see God working in families.  As you continue to read, you will see what we mean.

Christian Bible Fellowship

On Sunday evening (October 13th), at Christian Bible Fellowship, in Evensville, TN, a father and his teenage son accepted Christ as their Savior.  What a delight to see this father and son come to know Christ!  Please pray for their other son, that he will also see his need of Jesus as his Savior.

On Tuesday evening, Paxton came at the end of the service and said, “I don’t know how to decide.”  We thought he was talking about which prize to choose for bringing a visitor.  He then said, “No, I mean . . .” while pointing up to Heaven.  He wanted to know how to accept Jesus so he could go to Heaven. Pastor’s wife talked with him, and he asked Jesus to save him.

Summer City Baptist Church

It was also great to fellowship with our friends at Summer City Baptist Church, in Pikeville, TN. It was a great week – and something very special happened after the Wednesday evening service.

9 year old, Caylin, had talked with her Mom (Candie) about wanting to get saved, but was nervous about going up in front of everyone.  Candie had shared this with Julie (a lady at Church who has been very burdened for Caylin).  After the Wednesday evening service, Julie saw that Caylin was struggling, and asked her if she wanted to get saved.  She teared-up and said, “Yes!” The three of them went into a Sunday school classroom, where Caylin asked Jesus to save her.  When they returned home, Candie and her husband, Cameron, were still telling Caylin how excited they were about her decision, when they noticed that 7 year old Cyla was sitting at the table crying. They asked her what was wrong, and through her tears she said “I don’t want to go to hell!”  They prayed with Cyla and she asked Jesus to save her too!!!  After they finally got everyone in bed, 12 year old, Camree, came in crying and said, “Mom, I didn’t feel the way the girls did when I prayed to be saved (at the age of 5). I was laying in my bed and I can’t sleep – – I don’t think I am saved.” They prayed with Camree, and she asked God to save her as well!!!!

What a night!!!  God is so good!!!  Thank you Tim, Susan, and Rachel for doing this amazing mission work!!!  My family will never forget you because God sent you to our little Church on the mountain and my girls were saved through your ministry.                       ~ Candie Swafford ~

What a night in the Swafford household!!!  We praise God for allowing us to be a small part of what He is doing in the hearts and lives of people.

Fellowship Baptist Church

Today, we will be ministering at Fellowship Baptist Church, in Sevierville, TN.  These dear folks have supported us for many years now, and God has used them so many times to encourage us in the ministry.  Please pray with us that those who do not know Christ as their personal Savior, would see their need of Salvation and come to accept Him.

Susan’s Mom

On Monday, we’ll travel to Clarksville, TN, to take Susan’s Mom for some doctor’s appointments, a Stress Test, and Cataract surgery. Mom has struggled with Macular Degeneration for many years now, and has had nearly 20 shots in her right eye (to slow down the degeneration). Pray that all goes well and that the surgery improves her eye sight.

Harvest Baptist Church

On Sunday, November 3rd, we will be ministering at Harvest Baptist Church, in Jacksonville, FL.  Pray that God will work in hearts and that many will make decisions for Him.

The Mayo Clinic

On November 4th, Susan will have her next appointment at the Mayo Clinic, in Jacksonville, FL. The Internal Medicine department is going to start from ground zero – and has scheduled many tests.  We will be in the Jacksonville area for several weeks.  Please pray that:

  • God will give them wisdom and discernment in diagnosing the problem with Susan’s pain, as well as the many other symptoms (her pain is steadily increasing, even with pain medication).
  • God will provide financially for our needs (the winter season is always challenging financially – but especially this year with Susan’s health situation).
  • God will give us safety and protection in the many miles we will travel over the next couple of months.

Thank you for “holding our arms up” through your faithful prayers and financial support for us and this ministry.
