May 24, 2013 – Good News Reflections

Dear Praying Friends,

We just finished a great week of meetings at Way of the Cross Baptist Church, in McDonough, GA.  The services were well attended.  It was awesome to see the excitement of the people to bring visitors (there was a total of 65 visitors for the week).  We praise God for the 7 who came to receive Christ as their personal Savior!

One person who came was a 19 year old lady who works at Wendy’s (where many of the members go after Church on Sundays).  They already had a good relationship with her, and invited her to the meetings.   It was wonderful to see her come and accept Christ.

On the way home from the Crusade Tuesday evening, a young man commented that he wanted to make sure he talked with someone tomorrow night about getting saved.  He came forward on Wednesday night and accepted Christ as his Savior.

Another young man came forward a couple of times for prayer, while he was with us at Camp Fairview last year. But during the Family Crusade this past week, he asked Jesus to save him. Praise God for continuing to work in his heart!

We are doing the programming again this year at Camp Fairview – July 1-5.  There are still some openings, so if you are interested in bringing a group of young people during this week, contact Alex Newton as soon as possible to reserve your spot at Camp (423-368-6170).

We are on our way to Liberty Baptist Church, in Strasburg, VA.  Please be in prayer for the Family Crusade that starts on Sunday.  We are excited to see what God is going to do this week.

God’s Blessings

Many times, when we think of God’s blessings, we think about the good things that happen.  But sometimes, God’s blessings can be seen in the timing of the “not so good happenings” in our lives.  We’ve had several things happen in the last couple of weeks that have reminded us that God is in control.

On this past Wednesday night, an air conditioner in our 5th Wheel died on us. Pastor contacted an RV repair shop and they were able to locate a replacement A/C in the Atlanta area.  Tim picked it up from the warehouse and installed it this morning before we started our trip to VA.  It could have easily died on us in a place where it would have been very difficult to locate a new one. God’s timing is always perfect. Two weeks ago, we were home for just a few days.  As we were setting-up our 5th Wheel, one of the pins sheered-off of the landing gear (the front support jacks on the trailer).  We are thankful that we were home so we could order the new landing gear and have it installed on our way to McDonough, GA.

Several weeks ago, a tire went flat on the trailer, because a weld on the wheel had broken.  We had just traveled over 400 miles and had several hundred miles to travel later on that week.  We are thankful that we were still in the Church parking lot when the tire went flat (and not traveling down the road)

Sometimes we forget how God has truly blessed us.  We have much to praise God for, even in the “not so good happenings” in our lives.

Please continue to pray for our safety in travels and for God to work in hearts in upcoming meetings.

May God bless you as you continue to serve Him!

Reaching Families for Him,

Tim, Susan, and Rachel Vermaas
