Dear Praying Friends,
Liberty Baptist Church
We had a great week of ministry at Liberty Baptist Church, in Strasburg, VA. On Sunday evening, 7 year old Gage came forward to accept Jesus as his Savior. It was neat to see his excitement in making that decision.
Monday was Memorial Day, so we all went to the Park and enjoyed a cook-out and a time of softball – and then we did our program under the pavilion. It was a fun time of ministry and fellowship with everyone who came.
The rest of the Crusade was held at the Church, and we praise God for working in hearts, and for the many that brought visitors. It’s always a special time ministering with our friends at Liberty.
Davidson Baptist Church
This last week, we were at Davidson Baptist Church, in Hazard, KY. They always do a great job of visiting and promoting the meeting (by Thursday night, they had brought in 71 visitors). It was awesome to see the excitement of the people to bring their family and friends. We praise God for the 11 who placed their trust in Jesus as their Savior! It was an exciting week!
The last time we were there at Davidson Baptist (2011), 7 year old Cody, prayed to receive Jesus as his Savior. Pastor Pete visited with the family and they began to attend the services. Cody’s Mom wrote on Face Book, “I now know what I must do to be saved.” They both came to visit Pastor several weeks later, and made that same decision for Christ. It thrills our hearts when people see their need of Christ and they put their trust in Him!
Bible Fellowship Church
Please pray for this week as we begin a Family Crusade on Sunday at Bible Fellowship Church, in Olney, IL. We always have a great time of ministry with our Olney friends. Pray with us that many decisions for Christ will be made this week.
Special Prayer Request
Our truck had quite a work-out on the way to Hazard, KY last weekend (several of the grades were rather steep). About half a dozen times we had to pull over to let the transmission cool down, and twice we had to put the truck in 4-wheel-drive-low and climb the mountain at about 10 mph. Unfortunately, the truck has developed a noticeable vibration (especially at certain speeds).
We took it to a trusted local garage in KY to see if it could possibly be something simple (like the U–joints) – but it looks like the problem is either in the transfer case, or in the transmission. We called the shop in Chattanooga, TN (who usually works on our transmission) and he feels that we can still drive it until we can get it to him a week from Monday.
We’ve had a lot of repairs in the last couple of months, but we realize that this is just part of being on the road as much as we are. We don’t always know how God is going to provide, but we know that He always does. We serve such an Awesome God!
Please continue to pray for our safety in travel and that God will work in hearts.
Reaching Families for Him,
