Good News Reflections

Be sure to read to the end to see our unique visitor this past week – he was a real “hoot.” (see 3 minute video clip at the end)

Update from Community Baptist Church

On Sunday afternoon (7/12/15) we got a text from Adam Underwood, Pastor of Community Baptist Church (where we did a Family Crusade two weeks ago) letting us know that a lady accepted Christ as her Savior on Sunday morning. Christina had attended the Crusade several nights and had raised her hand during the invitation, but did not come forward. We praise God for continuing to work in her heart.

Iron Hill Baptist Church

We just finished an amazing week at Iron Hill Baptist Church, in Acworth, GA – and there were decisions for Christ every night.

On Sunday night, ten year old Michael came forward, and his Mom and Dad had the privilege of leading him to the Lord. On Monday night (which was Susan’s spiritual birthday) eight year old Cassidy and thirteen year old Tristan came to accept Christ.

Across the street from the church, a tree fell on the power lines on Tuesday afternoon, and we were without electricity for a couple of hours. Thankfully – the power came back on just before we started our prayer time. That evening, fifteen year old, Diana, (who had talked to Susan and Fran on Monday night) came forward again to talk more about Heaven, but she still was not ready. At the end of the service, she came back to Susan and said that she was now ready to pray and ask Jesus to save her. She invited her Aunt and her twin sister to join us as she prayed to receive Christ as her personal Savior. Just before Diana prayed, the lights began to flicker and the emergency lights came on (due to a big storm blowing through the area). It was definitely a reminder that we are in a spiritual battle. Please pray that Diana will grow in her new faith, and that God will bring Christian friends alongside her to encourage her to live for Christ.

On Wednesday night, 10 year old Jordan accepted Jesus as his Savior. Also on Wednesday, 10 year old Sierra came to Susan and let her know that they both had the same spiritual birthday. Susan asked Sierra when she had accepted the Lord, and she let us know that she made that decision at home on Monday night (3 young people got saved on Susan’s spiritual birthday).

Nine year old Jalye and seven year old Taya came forward on Thursday night to accept the Lord. We praise God for the 8 Salvation decisions this week!

Tomorrow we start a Family Crusade at Philadelphia Baptist Church, in Calhoun, GA (another one of our supporting Churches). Please pray that the Lord will work in hearts, and that many decisions will be made for Him.

Reaching Families for Him,

Tim, Susan, and Rachel Vermaas

Praises:
Thanks to special gifts, we were able to take care of the following needs –

Purchase 4 new tires for the truck.

Have the transmission serviced and the oil changed.

Send Rachel to Teen Extreme Youth Camp at PCC.

Order Rachel’s 8th Grade curriculum.

Prayer Requests:

Rachel is taking the ABeka Jaffe Strings course this year, and is in need of a
violin.

Susan is working on developing a new character for Creation night in our
meetings – a Platypus. Axtell has a Platypus that we have been praying about.

As a family, we would like to get the Rosetta Stone course in Spanish. We
believe that learning Spanish will enhance and expand this ministry.

We have upgraded our sound system to a more compact, light weight system;
and need to sell the rest of our former sound system.

“Louie” the Cardinal came to visit us on Friday afternoon, after we backed our trailer in place at Iron Hill Baptist Church, in Acworth, GA. He came to visit every day, from just before sun up until sun down. The branch just outside our window is where he chose to perch – where he would sing and peck at our window. He kept us company all week and was a constant reminder of the complexity of God’s beautiful Creation.
